Most homeowners spend more time maintaining their landscape beds than they ever planned to. Re-edging grass that keeps creeping in, repositioning plastic borders after frost heaves, picking up mulch that migrates onto the lawn - it adds up. Concrete curbing solves all of that in one shot.
Here's what we did at this St. Stephen home. We wrapped the beds around the house with poured concrete curbing in a storm grey and charcoal color blend, finished with a granite slate stamp. The result is a clean, structured border that actually holds its line. No shifting, no re-doing it every spring.
The granite slate stamp is one of our favorite finishes to work with. It gives the curbing real texture and depth - it looks like natural stone from a distance but holds up far better over time. The dark charcoal color ties in nicely with the home's exterior and makes the green of the lawn pop against it.
What we love about concrete landscape edging is that it does two things at once. It sharply defines where the bed ends and the lawn begins, which cuts down significantly on trimming and hand-edging work. And it just looks finished. A clean border line changes the entire feel of a property's curb appeal without a major overhaul.
The homeowner was happy, the crew was happy, and honestly - that thumbs up photo says it all. This is exactly the kind of work we enjoy doing for local homeowners around central Minnesota.
