This Big Lake property already had a lot going for it - beautiful home, mature trees, a nice paver patio. But without a solid border separating the lawn from the beds, the whole yard felt a little unfinished. That's a really common thing we see. The landscaping itself is great, but that clean separation between grass and garden bed just isn't there yet.

We went with a storm grey and charcoal color blend paired with a slate stamp finish. The color choice was intentional - it complements the blue-grey exterior of the home and ties everything together without fighting for attention. The slate texture adds a little visual interest up close while keeping the overall look clean and sharp from the street.

What we like about concrete curbing over plastic or metal edging is the permanence. It doesn't shift, it doesn't heave out of the ground after a hard Minnesota winter, and it holds mulch and rock in place without needing to be reset every season. Less time trimming along bed edges, less maintenance chasing mulch back where it belongs. That matters.

The curbing runs along the front foundation beds, wraps the larger curved bed near the patio, and continues along the retaining wall on the side of the property. Every section had its own challenges in terms of grade and curve, and the curbing machine handles that smoothly - the continuous pour process is what gives you those flowing, consistent lines rather than the segmented look you'd get from individual pavers or block.

The finished result ties the whole yard together in a way that's hard to put into words until you see it. The beds look intentional. The lawn looks cleaner. And the homeowner gets to spend a lot less time on edge maintenance going forward. That's the goal every time.
