New construction is exciting - but one thing that often gets overlooked is what ties the landscaping together once everything is done. Without a clean, defined edge, even a well-planted bed can look unfinished. That's exactly the kind of detail we were called in to handle on this Clearwater property.
We installed concrete curbing around the foundation beds using a Spanish stamp pattern and a storm grey color. The combination works really well here. The grey tone picks up on the home's darker siding without being too matchy, and the stamped texture adds just enough visual interest to keep it from looking plain. It's a small detail that makes a big impact on the overall look of the place.
What we like about concrete curbing is how practical it is beyond just looking good. It holds the bed line in place, keeps mulch where it belongs, and cuts down on the time you'd otherwise spend re-edging by hand every few weeks. Mowing right up to a hard edge is a lot faster and cleaner than trying to trim a soft, undefined border.
The curb runs along the front and side of the home, following the natural curve of the beds. Getting that flow right matters - a stiff or choppy line would break the whole look. We take time on the layout so the finished product moves naturally with the landscape instead of fighting it.
This is the kind of work that doesn't always get noticed right away, but you definitely notice when it's missing. A clean edge grounds the whole yard and signals that the details were thought through. Glad we could be part of pulling this one together for the homeowner.
